Specs are copied from each brand's own product pages (Rawlings and Easton catalog pages, the Axe and Warstic stores, Mizuno product pages, and the Combat MFG store at combatmfg.com, whose baseball line is BBCOR only), retrieved 2026-10-16. Fields the brand page does not state are left blank. Colorway duplicates of the same model and drop are merged.
Certification check: each model's item or SKU code is matched against the USABat approved bat list (USA Baseball) and the BBCOR certified bat list (Washington State University Sports Science Lab, which tests for the NCAA and NFHS). USSSA publishes only a licensed-manufacturer list, not a model list, so USSSA bats are checked at the manufacturer level. "Not matched" means the code could not be matched, not that the bat is uncertified.
League fit compares the bat's certification, drop and barrel with each division's published rule in BatRules. It ignores event bans and decertifications, so always check the mark on the bat and the event rules.
Retailer listings: product URL and listed price from public pages that robots.txt allows: Baseball Monkey category listings, CloseoutBats category pages, and Hibbett and Dick's product sitemaps (URL only; their product pages block automated reading, so no price). Pages were fetched slowly, at the crawl delay each site asks for. A listing is attached to a model only when brand, model name, certification and drop agree and the model years don't conflict. Listings that match no brand-page model become their own record, with specs taken from the listing title only. One record per model, certification and model year.
Ratings: star rating and review count as shown on public product pages: brand sites (Rawlings and Easton via their Bazaarvoice summary, Marucci and Victus via Yotpo) and Baseball Monkey. Each source is stored with its URL and retrieval date. If one site lists several pages for the same model (for example colorways), only the page with the most reviews is used, so reviews are not double counted. The overall rating is the review-count-weighted average: sum(rating × reviews) / sum(reviews), shown as "4.6 / 5 from 1,240 reviews across 3 sites". Models with no public rating are left unrated. We never estimate a rating. Amazon, JustBats and Dick's were not read, because of bot checks.
